Resume Workshop and Student/Professional Mixer

Established/Experienced Professionals:

Come meet the future of our profession! This is a fantastic opportunity to get a head start on your recruiting efforts and meet current and future job candidates in a constructive and personal environment. We’ll ask you to share some of your professional experience, what upcoming opportunities/positions you will be looking to fill and what a successful candidate’s resume looks like.  You’re an integral part of shaping the future of our young professionals and we really value your participation!

Students and Professionals in Transition:

Get a head start on your job search! The purpose of this meeting is to get you to think about your career direction in engineering and geology and start building the most appropriate and effective resume.  We want to highlight the different paths people take in the field and the variety of jobs available.  Bring your current resume, compare notes with others and get constructive feedback from experienced professionals on what they’re looking for!

Workshop Format (6-9 pm):

  • Ice breaker (to practice your hand shake, and conversing with professionals),
  • Chair’s message,
  • Presentation on the state of practice and job search,
  • Attendee introductions,
  • Brief presentations on career experiences by professionals,
  • Resume review/discussion,
  • Open session talks with professionals.

Refreshments:

Pizza, Salad and soft drinks will be provided starting around 6:30 pm.
