Join us for a field trip to the Chabot Dam Seismic Upgrade Project at beautiful Lake Chabot in Oakland, California. Undertaken by the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD), this seismic improvement project consists of cement deep soil mixing to strengthen the dam, installation of a 35-foot-deep seepage collection system at the toe of the dam, and upgrades to the existing outlet structure.

9am – 1pm
- 9am: Meet near the project site, caravan to field office
- 9:30 – 10:30: Presentation on the project background and current activities – by E. Morley Beckman and Thomas Shastid of Kleinfelder (EBMUD’s Construction Management Team)
- 10:30 – noon: Tour the project site and observe cement deep soil mixing activities
- Noon – 1pm: Lunch at Chabot Park, Q&A with project engineers
- 1pm: Depart site
